The receptionist at the radio station where I worked needed to be replaced for a while. We contacted a temporary agency and shortly after a girl started working there. One day, a salesman looked at the temporary receptionist, pulled me aside and said very quietly:
– You made a mistake hiring this girl.
– Why? – I asked.
– She won’t stay here – he said. – She can’t stay at a job. I’ve seen her all over town!
Necessity
A couple went to look for a course to learn how to speak Chinese. The teacher is curious about the interest and asks why they are taking the course.
– Oh! It’s because we adopted an 11-month-old Chinese boy and soon he will start talking. If we don’t learn quickly, we won’t understand anything!
